Minor cosmetic dental issues can make you feel hesitant to smile. These can include stained, chipped, cracked, or misshapen teeth, as well as a larger than normal gap between two teeth (called a diastema). Porcelain dental veneers are a simple and economical way to correct these problems, and give you the smile you desire.
How Do Porcelain Veneers Work?
Dr. Tim J. Brooks attaches an extremely thin piece of ceramic to the front of your tooth with a special cement to improve your overall aesthetics. To prepare, he first takes an x-ray and impression of your tooth. Once the impression material hardens, he removes and sends the impression to a nearby professional dental laboratory. Lab technicians use this information to create your fully customized porcelain veneer.
As soon as our practice receives your veneer from the laboratory, we invite you to our office for your final fitting. Dr. Brooks ensures a proper fit, then applies dental cement to adhere your veneer in place. He then shines a curing light on the tooth to permanently affix the veneer.
High quality porcelain dental veneers such as those offered by our office last for several years. Patients are educated about proper oral hygiene, and how to avoid unnecessary stresses, leading to even longer life for your veneer.
